The City of Dodge City is accepting applications for the position of firefighter/EMT. Applications will be used to fill a projected vacancy and to establish an eligibility list for future reference. Starting salary is $12.85 per hour plus City benefit package, including health insurance, and KP&F retirement program. Position responds to alarms and emergency medical calls to protect life and property, trains on and operates fire fighting and emergency response equipment and participates in fire prevention programs.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and must possess a high school degree or equivalency, valid state drivers license, and Kansas or National Registry EMT certification. NFPA Firefighter I, II and Hazmat operations certifications preferred. Previous experience and bilingual skills preferred but not required. Applicants must be able to perform heavy physical work and a multitude of movements to perform duties of the position.
Special Requirements:
Applications will be accepted until Friday, May 29, 2015. Required testing for qualified applicants will occur on Friday, June 12, 2015 and will include physical agility, written testing and an oral board. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
